The Touratech engine crash bar effectively protects the BMW R1300GS engine from damage!
Its robust construction, featuring four independent mounting points, forms a "cage" that fully protects all components—cylinders, valve covers, and even the sensitive lambda sensors!
For the first time, 25x2 mm stainless steel tubing is reinforced by 3 mm thick, 3D-formed stainless steel plates. These integrate perfectly with the R1300GS frame in terms of both technology and design, leveraging the superior strength and low weight of formed sheet metal.
The 3D-formed plates shield the particularly vulnerable front section of the valve cover, securing it from both the front and the side. At the same time, they harmonize perfectly with the new, flatter design language of the large "GS," making the crash bar an integral visual element of the motorcycle.
Forces generated during a tip-over or fall are safely absorbed, distributed, and effectively channeled to appropriate structural points, dissipating energy in a way that protects the motorcycle. Numerous predetermined deformation points prevent overloading, thereby safeguarding the frame and engine.
The entire structure is made exclusively from robust, rust-resistant, electropolished stainless steel.
The clearance between the crash bar and the engine has been kept to a minimum. The guard does not affect the motorcycle's ground clearance or lean angle.
Installation is quick and easy thanks to a perfect fit with the motorcycle's mounting points. All necessary mounting hardware is included.
