TECH-AIR® 5 PLASMA is an innovative, ultra-lightweight, compact and user-friendly airbag system. It is designed to be worn independently under a jacket/suit, offering unique comfort and a customisable fit. The minimalist, body-hugging design ensures almost invisible active protection that does not restrict movement while riding and increases rider safety and confidence.The vest is designed to be ultra-lightweight, with unique comfort and an "invisible" fit, protecting the torso, including the chest, ribs, back and shoulders. The back protector with PLASMA technology contributes to optimal comfort, flexibility, breathability and protection. Thanks to an advanced algorithm, the system offers three riding modes: STREET, RACE and OFFROAD. TECH-AIR® 5 PLASMA has a single gas cylinder that can be quickly and easily replaced by the user.
The system is ready to be inserted into AirbagReady® jackets and overalls.
Technical description:
• Full coverage protection for the chest, ribs, back and shoulders while maintaining the system's unique lightness and high user comfort. • Weight only 1.53 kg – currently the lightest TECH-AIR® system, more than 25% lighter than TECH-AIR® 5. • Ultra-light minimalist "invisible" design. • Unique comfort and breathability thanks to the stretch construction and material composition that ensures breathability and sweat wicking. • Back protection using advanced PLASMA technology, made from environmentally friendly materials. • Optimised, ultra-lightweight and thin, single-layer construction with stretch mesh is designed to hug the upper body in the airbag insert areas and minimise material layering.
• Easily and quickly accessible rear cover for access to the control unit, battery and cylinder. Thanks to its easy access, the cylinder can be quickly and easily replaced by the user. • User-friendly design that allows the end user to quickly and easily disassemble the system for routine maintenance and cleaning of the vest. Thanks to the simple removal of the back, the separation of the lining and the back protector, including the LED display and activation zip, the system can be easily disassembled and the outer lining of the vest cleaned. Key service parts, including the replaceable cartridge, are also easily accessible.
• Battery operating time up to 30 hours of riding time.
Riding modes and LED display:
• The system has three riding modes: STREET (road traffic), RACE (circuit) and OFFROAD (option to ride on unpaved roads in the terrain). Once the system is properly switched on, the user can easily switch between the different modes. Using the button integrated into the LED display, it is possible to switch between the different modes by holding the button down for 2 seconds. After activating a specific mode, a green LED lights up above its description. The system will vibrate for one second before activating a specific mode.
• When the vest is turned on, the system is automatically activated and the lower LED display not only visually indicates that the system is activated, but also displays the current status of the vest and the driving mode. This occurs approximately one second after activation via haptic feedback in the display area. If the system is deactivated or the LED display shows a red status, the system emits long vibrations lasting approximately 3 seconds.
SAFETY FEATURES:
• Active protection with full coverage of the chest, ribs, shoulders and back. • Integrated back protector made of viscoelastic NUCLEON PLASMA technology material is low-profile, ultra-lightweight, flexible and breathable. • Low-profile back insert contains the control unit and cylinder. This makes the vest "invisible" when worn under a jacket/overalls.
• The product is CE certified and all protective elements belong to category II personal protective equipment according to EU Regulation 2016/425 and are also in accordance with English legislation.
• Passive protection in the form of a back protector insert is CE certified according to EN1621-2:2014 Level 1.
• Active protection in the form of an airbag is CE certified according to EN 1621-4:2013 Level 1. • The complete system is CE certified as protective motorcycle clothing according to EN 17092-6:2020 with a C classification for inner layers of clothing. • The airbag bag is designed and certified for up to 6 consecutive inflations without the need for replacement.
