The Klim Ai-1 airbag vest is another airbag vest created by a leading equipment manufacturer to help riders achieve maximum safety. After all, MotoGP riders are not the only ones who want a high level of protection. Klim, in collaboration with In&Motion, has developed an AI-powered system for touring riders in a way that ensures the vest is constantly learning and improving.The "brain" of the Klim Ai1 Airbag is the In&Box DPP (detect, protect, perfect) detection module located in the polypropylene shell vest. This is a powerful technology that measures abnormal activity 1,000 times per second. In addition to continuous coverage and measurement, the device has a total battery life of 20 hours (or 15 days in standby mode) and takes only 3 hours to fully charge. A charging cable is included in the package.
The Klim airbag vest is designed to be comfortable wherever you go, whether you wear it over or under your jacket. The inner chassis of the jacket is made of breathable, moisture-wicking stretch mesh for ventilation and flexibility.
Once you have the vest and module, you can also use the mobile app dashboard interface on your phone. A full purchase option is available, which includes continuous algorithm updates, a 2-year warranty, and tracking mode failure detection options. For greater flexibility, there are also subscription options that include VIP support services in addition to the previous features.
How does it work?
When you purchase this vest, you will receive a vest with a back protector in the package. The control unit is not included in the package; it will be sent to you by post from France by In & Motion immediately after you register on their website and select a licence to use the vest. It arrived in three days.
You can choose either a one-off payment of €399 with 2 years of support (the vest unit still works, just without SW updates) or a unit rental with an annual payment of €120 or a monthly payment of €12. You can cancel or suspend the rental at any time – during the suspension period, you pay €4 per month.
You can choose a monthly payment of €12. For this price, you have constantly updated software that, thanks to artificial intelligence, is constantly learning from the data of all users of these units worldwide. In & motion supplies units not only to Klíma, but also to companies such as Furygan, Held, RST, Ixon, etc.
If you ride extreme enduro off-road or on a circuit, you will pay an additional €25 per year or €8 per month for these modes. The algorithms for evaluating the activation of the vest are specific to these conditions, so we fully understand that these modes come at an additional cost.

Finally, the jacket was designed to withstand 3 inflations before servicing. This is possible because Klim also offers user-replaceable compressed inert gas inflators that allow you to reuse the airbag when you need it. To check that the vest has not been damaged after putting it on, Klim even allows you to use a bicycle pump to inflate the vest to check for any punctures.
